Which size for outdoor cushions?
For 4-6 cushions: 71 Gallon is the right pick. For full patio set cushions plus throw pillows: 110 Gallon. For multiple seating sets worth of cushions: StoreAway 850L or larger.
Can I sit on a deck box?
Yes - all DuraMax deck boxes are designed to support seating. The 71 and 110 gallon models often double as outdoor benches. The StoreAway models are taller and not as comfortable as benches, but they can be sat on briefly.
Are they waterproof?
Water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. The lids fit snugly enough to keep rain out in normal weather. In driving rain or wind-driven precipitation, small amounts of moisture may enter through lid seams. For absolutely dry storage (electronics, paper, etc.), use additional waterproof bins inside the deck box.
Flat lid or arc lid on the StoreAway 1200L?
Pick flat lid if you want maximum interior height and the ability to use the top as a workbench or staging surface. Pick arc lid if you live in a region with regular rain or snow - the arc shape sheds precipitation more effectively and reduces water/snow accumulation on top.
Do I need to anchor them?
For wind resistance in exposed locations (open yards, coastal areas), yes - the StoreAway models can be anchored to the ground with included or aftermarket hardware. The smaller 71 and 110 gallon models are heavy enough when full to stay put in most conditions but can be anchored for extra security.

The size that fits on most decks and patios without dominating the space. Sits about 2 ft tall and serves double duty as an outdoor bench or side table.
The 110 Gallon Outdoor Deck Box (2 color options) is the popular mid-size. About 416L of internal capacity - 60% more than the 71 gallon. Holds more cushions, larger pool equipment, garden tools, or seasonal items. Still fits in typical residential outdoor spaces without overwhelming them. Most commonly chosen size in DuraMax's deck box line.
The StoreAway 850L Storage Box (2 color options) steps up to micro-shed territory. 850 liters (~225 gallons) of internal capacity - holds a riding mower (the smallest residential models), comprehensive lawn equipment, full pool equipment setups, or what would otherwise be a small storage shed's worth of gear. At this size, the StoreAway is genuinely a building rather than just a box.
The StoreAway Flat Lid 1200L (2 color options) and Arc Lid 1200L (2 color options) are the largest options. 1200 liters (~317 gallons) of capacity. The flat lid maximizes interior height and provides a flat top surface that can double as a workbench or staging area. The arc lid sheds water and snow more effectively, making it the safer pick in wet or snowy climates. Both at this size approach what you would get from a small shed but in a more compact footprint and with a lower price point.
