Questions about the 10x25 vinyl garage.
Vehicle fit, permits, foundation, installation.
What vehicles fit in the 10x25?
Everything the smaller sizes fit, plus extended-cab pickups (F-150 SuperCab, Ram 1500 Quad Cab) and full-size SUVs (Tahoe, Expedition, Sequoia, Yukon). Standard 18 ft boat trailers with motorboats up to 20 ft also fit when backed in. For dually trucks or larger commercial vehicles, look at the 10x28 or the 12 ft wide metal Imperial line.
Do I need a permit?
Yes - and you may also need structural engineering letters at this size. At ~268 sq ft, this exceeds municipal no-permit thresholds in every jurisdiction. Some cities require additional engineering documentation for accessory buildings over 200 sq ft. Permitting is the customer's responsibility per our policy. Start the conversation with your local building department before ordering.
What foundation do I need?
A 4-inch concrete slab with rebar, sized to the building footprint with a small overhang allowance. The included foundation kit provides the anchoring framework. A pressure-treated wood platform over compacted gravel is also acceptable, though concrete is the longer-lived option.
How long does installation take?
2.5-3.5 days for two people with basic tools. The longer length adds wall and roof panel installation time compared to the shorter models. Hiring a local handyman or contractor typically runs $1,500-$2,500. Installation manuals are on our manuals page.
Can I run electric to it?
Yes, and at this size most owners do. The kit is not pre-wired, but the structure is designed to accommodate residential service. Most owners run a dedicated 20A-30A circuit (some go with a small sub-panel for workshop outlets and lighting) from the main panel via underground conduit. Hire a licensed electrician. Plan $2,000-$4,000 for a full workshop electrical setup.
What is included in the kit?
Vinyl panel system, reinforced galvanized steel framework, integrated steel-anchored foundation kit, double front doors with secure latching, side-wall windows, and all assembly hardware. You provide the slab (or pressure-treated wood platform), labor or installer, and any optional add-ons like shelving or electrical.
What is the warranty?
DuraMax's 15-year limited manufacturer warranty on vinyl panels, structural framing, doors, and included hardware. Non-transferable. Full coverage details and exclusions on our warranty page.
About the DuraMax 10x25 Vinyl Garage
The DuraMax 10.5 ft x 25.5 ft vinyl garage (SKU 15426) is the extended-length option in the vinyl garage line. At ~268 square feet, the 25.5 ft of interior length is enough to comfortably park any standard or full-size residential vehicle plus dedicate 4-5 ft of length at the back to a proper workshop bay. This is the size buyers pick when they want both functions in one building, not just a place to park.
Vehicle-wise, the 10x25 fits everything the smaller models do (sedans, SUVs, standard pickups) plus the larger vehicles that the 10x21 cannot quite accommodate: extended-cab pickups like the F-150 SuperCab or Ram 1500 Quad Cab fit comfortably; full-size SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, and GMC Yukon fit with 2-3 ft of walk-around clearance at each end; and standard 18-foot boat trailers with motorboats up to 20 ft can be stored if you back them in.
The 25.5 ft length is most often configured as vehicle in the front 20 ft, workshop bay in the rear 5 ft. That back 5 feet supports a full workbench across the width (10.5 ft wide), tool storage along both side walls, and floor space for a tool chest, drill press, or compact woodworking setup. Buyers who do not need vehicle storage at all use the full 268 sq ft as a substantial workshop with multiple workstations.
What you get in the kit: a complete UV-stabilized vinyl panel system over a reinforced galvanized steel framework, an integrated steel-anchored foundation kit, the double front doors with secure latching, side-wall windows for daylight, and all assembly hardware. You provide the slab (4 inches of concrete with rebar to the building's footprint plus a small perimeter allowance) or a pressure-treated wood platform over compacted gravel.
Installation takes 2.5-3.5 days for two people with basic tools. The longer length adds wall and roof panel installation time compared to the shorter models. Hiring a local handyman or contractor typically runs $1,500-$2,500 for this size. Installation manuals are on our manuals page.
Permits: at ~268 sq ft, this size always requires a building permit. Plan to file with your local building department before ordering. Some jurisdictions require structural engineering letters at this size; check during the permit conversation. See our permits policy.
If you want even more workshop space (full-size truck with workbench plus tool chest plus drill press, or a dedicated long workshop without vehicle storage), the 10x28 vinyl garage adds 2.5 ft of length. If a smaller workshop bay is fine, the 10x21 is the next size down.
